Our Weekend

We had a busy weekend around here!

Most of Friday was spent finishing up Andrew's Mini 4-H projects.  They turned out really well.  He was so proud of them!  We did the following:  Nature - Leaves; Models - Airplane; Collections - Airplanes; Foods - No Bake Cookies.

Friday evening Chad and the boys went to pick corn with Papaw.  Chad worked for a farmer when he was at home, and they call us every year to pick sweet corn!  We love it!  They picked a ton and went swimming at Papaw and Nana's afterward.

I went to a Ladies' Night Out gathering at a pottery studio.  This was our second time doing it, and it was just as much fun!  We made plates this time.  So much fun!  I made a celebration plate to use at parties, etc.  If it turns out, I'll take a picture of it and share with you!  It's being beautified now.

Saturday morning I got up early to run some errands.  I came back and worked on all that corn for quite a while.  We have a dozen quart bags of corn in our freezer.  We gave quite a bit away.  Chad and Andrew took the 4H projects to the fair.

We had two couples and their families over for dinner Saturday evening.  Guess what we had?!?!  Corn!!  And chicken kabobs, grilled veggies on my recipe blog, hashbrown casserole, fresh fruit and french bread.  Mmmm...it was good!  A friend brought dessert.  We had a great time together!

Sunday we had another great day at church.  Some exciting things happening there!  God is at work, and we are excited!  Papaw came to help Chad with brakes on the van.  They wanted to get started on the tree house roof, but it rained!  So we all just hung out together.  I took off for a church meeting.  Come Sunday night I was beat!

Today was one of those Mondays where you just don't want to do a thing.  So I just decided that we needed a day at the pool.  We picked up our neighbor friend and made a day of it!

Wishing you a great week!
